Givat Haviva Mourns the Passing of Harry Cagin
October 31, 2007
We were deeply saddened by the news about the passing away of Harry Cagin. May he rest in peace.
Harry always occupied a special place for us at Givat Haviva, being such a warm, witty and inspiring person. It was always a great pleasure to host Harry and Marilyn here. His enthusiasm about the Peace Library, its activities and patrons, and his firm commitment to its setup and maintenance left a lasting impression on everybody who met him during his visits to the campus. We deplore the loss of a true friend that we hoped so much to see again among us and to present to him all the progress that he helped to initiate. We will miss him very much.
In these difficult times our thoughts are with Marilyn, her family and Harry's friends. It may alleviate some of the pain to know that Harry's vision for Givat Haviva and the Peace Library will continue unabated. We will continue in our efforts to embody his legacy in the daily work of the library, its plans for the future, and the guidelines for its development.
The memory of Harry and his contribution to Givat Haviva will be marked and honored in a proper way in the library.
