Arabs and Jews meet on the Neighbors’ Path

The welcome rains that fell this year turned the Neighbors’ Path into a green carpet where cyclamen and anemones stand out in all their glory. The trails are accessible for walking, and the rest stations are suitable for family fun in nature close to home. Fortunately, many families from the area have been able to get outside during this period to enjoy nature and meet families from the neighboring community on the way. In this way, interesting and enriching meetings happen between the children and the parents, fulfilling the vision of the trail project in practice. The Neighbors' Path is the result of a four-year collaboration between the Menashe Regional Council and the Baqa Al-Gharbiya Municipality, accompanied by Givat Haviva. The project expresses the shared vision of these neighboring communities, working to create a common regionality that is expressed in shared efforts to preserve and cultivate the environment. The project was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture’s Division of Rural Tourism. The trail is marked along its entire length, with explanatory signs in Hebrew and Arabic that direct hikers, riders and runners to interesting points where they can learn about the history and development of the area.
