Children Teaching Children (CTC)

Children Teaching Children (CTC), which began in 1987 and has encompassed over 30,000 Arab and Jewish students is a civics study and encounter program that connects Arab and Jewish middle school students and their teachers, and equips them with tools to promote respect and mutual understanding.

Givat Haviva’s trained facilitators guide participants in grappling with complex issues of national and individual identity, community life, and conflicting narratives in a shared land.

The children visit one another’s schools, have honest and open discussions, and participate in various activities to promote open communication and respect.

The program is implemented in pairs of schools in the Wadi Ara region of Israel over a two-year duration, providing a long-term experience of working together.
