On Nov 4, 2021, Givat Haviva's Executive Director, Michal Sella, visited the Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany, which has supported Givat Haviva and the activities to strengthen Israeli democracy for many years. During the visit, she met with the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malo Dreyer, and thanked her for her continued personal friendship with Givat Haviva and the state's vital contribution to building a shared and egalitarian society in Israel.
In a meeting with the State Minister of Education, plans were made for teacher delegations in 2022 on the subject of education for a shared society. Michal presented Givat Haviva's activity in a special discussion in the Parliamentary Education Committee and thanked the legislators for their many years of support. She also met with the President of the Parliament, who promised his support for Givat Haviva.
At the meeting, we raised ideas about the challenges of current and future educational policy in Israel and the Rhineland-Palatinate. "Givat Haviva lives the values of democracy, diversity and tolerance in an exemplary manner," the president said. "Meetings between young Jews and Arabs serve to break mutual stereotypes at an early stage, and promote a discourse of peace and equality."
